Breakthroughs in Storytelling Awards 2018

On April 4th, the Digital Storytelling Lab held its 3rd annual “Breakthroughs in Storytelling” Awards. The Digital Dozen represented exceptional works of digitally enabled narrative from around the world. A crowd gathered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center to celebrate a mix of innovative VR films, a marketing campaign that defies description, games that push the possibilities of the form, a book that molds itself to your experiences and more. The evening was hosted by FRANK ROSE (DSL member, writer/speaker on the impact of techonlogy, digital anthropologist) and LANCE WEILER (storyteller, founding member/director of the DSL). Presenters for the evening included NOAH BRIER (co-founder of Percolate), ELLEN LUPTON (author of Design Is Storytelling), KAREN PALMER (creator of the emotionally responsive video RIOT) and KEVIN SLAVIN (TED speaker and CSTO of The Shed).
