William Frey is a researcher at Columbia University’s School of Social Work and coordinator of the SAFElab. He is trained in grounded theory, ethnography (digital), and textual and contextual analysis. Additionally, he has expertise in dialogic and experiential learning methodologies, specifically inter/intragroup relations and facilitation training. William is interested in how white people learn to be white—processes of racialization of youth and adults categorized as white—through (in)formal education processes and intergenerational storytelling.
